Vin de Savoie Petillant

The AOC used to describe the wines of Savoie that are semi-sparkling, or frizzante. These wines can hail from a wide range of varieties, but most often from a blend of Roussette (Altesse), Chasselas, Chardonnay, Mondeuse Blanche and Jacquère. These wines are light, citrusy and often retain a floral component that some have compared to the smell of an Alpine valley in summer. They are best consumed young and fresh.
