Yorkville Highlands is located in Mendocino County, just to the southeast of Anderson Valley AVA. Midday temperatures fall between the hot Alexander Valley and the cool Anderson Valley, and the ocean breezes that creep into the Highlands at night cool the air from 40°F to 50°F below the midday temperatures. Sauvignon Blanc and Bordeaux varietals appreciate the porous gravel terroir in the Yorkville Highlands AVA that reminds them of their home.
