Midday temperatures fall between the hot Alexander Valley and the cool Anderson Valley, and the ocean breezes that creep into the Highlands at night cool the air from 40°F to 50°F below the midday temperatures. Sauvignon Blanc and Bordeaux varietals appreciate the porous gravel terroir in the Yorkville Highlands AVA that reminds them of their home.
