Located in the southwest corner of Oregon, the Rogue Valley is the warmest of Oregon's AVAs and only sees an annual precipitation of 12 inches. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are the grapes of preference, with the varietals being Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris and Riesling. The vignerons have planted Syrah and Viognier and believe they are showing some promise. Rogue Valley is home to one AVA, Applegate Valley.
