Mission
Red varietal thought to be of Spainsh origin. Planted extensively in the 1700s in Mexico and California and used for sacramental purposes. Wines from the Mission tend to be on the sweet side though there are several different styles. Today it is used mainly for "jug wine." Known as Pais in Chile.
