Still some sulphur notes on the notes, but when you get past that, there’s an abundance of warm red berries, earthy, and spicy aromas. Fresh, very fresh. Precise. Pure. And very long. I met Arianna the other day in Cerea for Vinovinovino! a natural winemakers exhibition near Verona, and I was impressed by her wines.
Among them, "Il frappato 2008", made from 100% frappato grapes made me rejoice by its typicality.
A clearly and nicely equilibrated red wine, which expresses all the power of the Sicily's terroir.
Mineral, almost smelling like brown soil, fresh with a strong acidic structure and balanced black berries and cherry, yet without being too redundant and fruity.
Once you drank it, the flavors linger longly and pleasantly in your mouth.
