Notes & aromas of cherry fruit. Light weight of bodied with high alcohol, lack acidity. Short finish.
Needed time to open up to reveal fruit flavors. Tastes of bittersweet chocolate and coffee flooded the tongue and left black plum and smoke in the finish. A good low priced cabernet with a short finish. Easy drinking and not memorable. The body never fills your mouth and doesn't stay long enough to leave an impression. Nice wine to accompany everyday meals of pasta, pizza and light BBQ. http://www.winegeeks.com/wines/3270#comment-2061Thu, 26 Aug 10 15:54:54 -0700Wine Review for Alloro Vineyard Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Estate 2008By ryansnyder

Rating: 3.80 / 5.0

This Willamette Valley Pinot is approachable at a very young age. On the nose it has that Burgundian funk of freshly turned soil and musty basement. On the palate, it's lively up front and mellow on the finish - zingy red raspberry melds into stewed black raspberry and pomegranate with hints of roses and granite. I'm quite pleased with this purchase and will definitely go back to the store to grab another bottle. Or three.http://www.winegeeks.com/wines/3265#comment-2059Fri, 20 Aug 10 20:15:05 -0700Wine Review for Château Manos Cadillac 2006By jmftrindade

Rating: 4.40 / 5.0

From http://www.winedrop.co.uk
Description:
A wonderful, wonderful treat of 'liquid gold'. Wine produced by the classic method of ‘noble rot’. Maximum concentration of sugars and flavour leading to a wonderful feeling of richness -opposed to sweetness. Reminiscent of the very best, if not the top of the world Yquem, but affordable.

The perfect wine for refined smooth and rich patés, the perfect peach, ideal to round off a special meal. http://www.winegeeks.com/wines/3263#comment-2058Sun, 15 Aug 10 11:05:03 -0700Wine Review for Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2007By ryansnyder

Rating: 3.40 / 5.0

Fruit forward, yet elegant, showing notes of black cherry, pomegranate and hints of cassis. Slightly floral. Great structure, with the elegance again showing in the silky mouthfeel. Enough tannins to allow this to age gracefully for the next 3-4 years. Would love to pair this with duck breast.http://www.winegeeks.com/wines/3261#comment-2057Sat, 14 Aug 10 08:55:54 -0700Wine Review for Lucien Muzard Santenay 1er Cru Close des Mouches 2006By ryansnyder

Rating: 3.40 / 5.0

Fresh, lively and very approachable. Showed black cherry and pomegranate atop a satiny body, with light showings of terroir that need a touch of time in the bottle to be able to fully show themselves. I'd lay it down for a couple more years. This made for a wine that paired greatly will morels, and really allowed them to stand out, as if they needed any help.http://www.winegeeks.com/wines/3258#comment-2056Sat, 07 Aug 10 09:28:44 -0700Wine Review for Weingut Meinhard Forstreiter Schieffer Gruner Veltliner Kremstal 2007By ryansnyder

Rating: 3.20 / 5.0

A floral, racy, minerally, lightly effervescent Gruner that was an outstanding showing. Was awesome as an apertif! I will happily purchase this wine again.http://www.winegeeks.com/wines/3259#comment-2055Sat, 07 Aug 10 09:20:10 -0700Wine Review for Cascina Castle't Barbera d'Asti 2008By ryansnyder

Rating: 3.15 / 5.0

When I ordered this Barbera from the menu at aPizza Scholls in Portland, Oregon, it was exactly what I was looking for in a Barbera. Black cherry and fresh currant, with a nice amount of oak and tannin to help it stand up to the 'za. Oh, and it was a margherita pizza with capicola. Perfect pairing.
Ready to drink now, but will improve with a couple years in the bottle. http://www.winegeeks.com/wines/3255#comment-2054Sat, 07 Aug 10 09:05:35 -0700Wine Review for Domaine Lafond Tavel 2008By ryansnyder

Rating: 3.40 / 5.0

This wine looks absolutely stunning, and will cause people to stop, point at the glass and state to the server, "I'll have one of those." It resembles cranberry juice, which shows on the palate, with a subtle French oak. Easy to drink, and makes for a good pairing with Salade Nicoise.http://www.winegeeks.com/wines/3254#comment-2053Sat, 07 Aug 10 08:44:05 -0700Wine Review for Bodega Goulart Torrontés Mendoza 2009By ryansnyder

Rating: 2.20 / 5.0

A decent showing of Torrontes. Lively, zesty fruit profile almost more reminiscent of a Loire Sauvignon Blanc than a Torrentes, and missing the distinct floral aroma. But refreshing, and a good pairing for grilled shrimp.http://www.winegeeks.com/wines/3253#comment-2052Sat, 07 Aug 10 08:40:52 -0700Wine Review for Grant Burge Chardonnay Barossa Valley 2009By bckl

Rating: 1.80 / 5.0

ABC: Anything But Chardonnay / Absolutely Brilliant Chardonnays
My favor ABC from Australia: Leeuwin Art Series (Margaret River), Penfolds Yattarna (Adelaide Hills), Rosemount Roxburgh (Hunter Valley) and Kooyong (Mornington Peninsula).
The 2009 Chardonnay is in bright straw colour. It shows notes of stone fruit, melon and pineapple. Fairy fruity bodied with rounded mouthfeel and creamy texture. Fresh acidity and a minerally aftertaste. Drink now.

The blend of three grapes meshed well together, and didn't over power the seafood pasta with tomato based sauce. If anything it enhanced my meal.

Definitely worth a sample
