Tinta Amarela

A Portuguese varietal that was once popular in the Duoro valley where it was used for its aromatic qualities as an ingredient in Port wines. Today, Tinta Amarela is grown extensively in the Dão region further to the south where the wines have aromas and flavors of black fruits, tea and tobacco leaves.
