Snake River Winery

Located in Southwestern Idaho, Snake River Winery crafts value-friendly wines based on the belief that wine should be shared and enjoyed as a regular experience, not just on special occasions. Owners, Scott and Susan DeSeelhorst purchased the Arena Valley Vineyard in 1998, where they grow 95% of the grapes used in their wines. The winery was built in 2000 on six acres of land adjacent to the vineyard. Keeping the entire winemaking process from vineyard to press to tank to bottle on the estate property allows for gentle and expedient processing of the grapes and wine.

The Arena Valley Vineyard consists of eighty acres of south facing hillside with well drained sandy loam soil interspersed with cobbled river rock. At an elevation of 2300 feet the grapes are exposed to cooler evenings which help them maintain a higher natural level of acidity, while the hot Idaho summers ensure maximum ripeness. The vineyard is currently producing 10 varietals including: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Blauer Zweigelt, Barbera, Chardonnay, Riesling, Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cao and Grenache.
